Die Salzkrämerei - Cafè & Bistro

Some rooms tell stories. They let you feel the history of the people who have sat and laughed here. Our café and bistro 'Die Salzkrämerei' located in the salt townhouse, is one such space. Nestled within the historic walls of our old townhouse, it has always been a meeting place. And that’s exactly what it will be again—only a little more: a piece of us, a piece of the salt.

Breakfast & Brunch in Hallein's old town

The morning begins here. With a leisurely breakfast. It shows you that a good day doesn't have to start rushing.

Our hotel breakfast (€20 per person) for the salt guests includes everything you need for a great start to the day:

  • 1 hot beverage
  • fresh pastries, sausage, ham, cheese, homemade spreads, soft-boiled egg
  • yogurt with fruit and homemade granola

For our hotel guests, this also means that, for the first time, you can now book rooms and apartments including breakfast, which has been a long-awaited addition.

If you prefer something light and quick, the yogurt bowl—made with farmhouse yogurt, fresh fruit, and homemade granola—or the toasted sourdough bread are the perfect way to start your day.

The new café & bistro 'Die Salzkrämerei' is open to everyone, not just for hotel guests of the salt townhouse, residences & vis à vis. External guests are also welcome to visit us at any time for breakfast, brunch, a snack or simply a coffee.

If you're looking for a place to have breakfast in Hallein, you'll find a relaxed retreat here with a pleasant atmosphere, good coffee, and a fine selection of breakfast classics. Open from morning until evening, 'Die Salzkrämerei' is the perfect place to relax and unwind, even outside of breakfast hours.

Just as we carefully restored the historic walls of our old townhouses and paying great attention to detail, we are now creating a place of culinary delight. Our café & bistro 'Die Salzkrämerei' will soon bring together tradition and modernity, history and enjoyment.

Ratio Coffee Roasters, Salzburg

Good coffee needs a good story—and ours begins far away, in Melbourne. Because some things have to travel a long way before they end up exactly where they belong.

Ratio Coffee Roasters was founded by Brent Nicoll—a man who discovered his passion for coffee in Melbourne, a city that stands for its vibrant coffee culture like no other. What he learned there was that good coffee requires craftsmanship, attitude, and origin. And he brought that back to Salzburg, turning it into one of Austria’s most remarkable specialty roasteries on Linzergasse.

Ratio Coffee Roasters has created something special for our Salzkrämerei: its own single-origin blend. A coffee with character that can only be found here—in a cup that was conceived far away yet feels right at home. From Melbourne to Salzburg. From Linzergasse to Hallein.
